FAQ/Policy

Where are you located?

I tattoo out of a private studio (Midnight Garden Atelier) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

How much do you charge and what forms of payment do you accept?

Pricing depends on the size of the piece. Large pieces that take more than one session will be by my hourly rate of $200/hr and pieces that will take one session to finish (less than 4 hours of tattooing) will be piece priced. At the moment I accept payment by email money transfer or cash and payment will be required at the end of each session.

How do I book an appointment?

In order to book an appointment please fill out the booking form linked above and I will be in contact shortly to discuss your ideas and give you an estimate for how long the tattoo will take as well as the pricing. From there a $200 deposit will be required to secure an appointment date and the deposit will be deducted from the cost of the tattoo after the tattoo is finished.

When will I see a design for my custom tattoo?

For custom tattoos I like to provide a rough sketch about a week before your appointment to make sure we’re on the same page with the design and if there are any adjustments to be made we’ll have time to make them before the first appointment.

What should I do to prepare for my appointment and what’s your cancellation policy?

Please start moisturizing three days prior to your appointment and on the day of gently shave the area. Be well rested and make sure to eat before your appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment please let me know as soon as possible. If you no-call no-show your appointment your deposit will be lost and a new deposit will be required to book an appointment.

How do I take care of my tattoo?

  • After your tattoo session your tattoo will be bandaged. When you get home please remove the bandage and gently pat wash the tattoo with unscented soap and warm water. Use a clean cloth or paper towel to pat dry the area. Avoid scrubbing or using hot water as this can irritate the skin.

  • Start moisturizing with unscented lotion after three days when you feel the tattoo start to tighten and dry out. Just a thin layer of lotion a couple of times a day as needed is all that’s required.

  • The tattoo will usually take around three weeks to fully heal.

  • Avoid picking or scratching the tattoo. During the healing process the tattoo will start to feel itchy and the skin will start to peel.

  • During the healing process avoid exposing the tattoo to direct sunlight or things such as tanning beds as this can damage the tattoo or cause it to fade

  • Avoid swimming or soaking the tattoo (baths, hot tubs, swimming pools) as this can damage the tattoo and cause infections

  • If possible wear loose breathable clothing, tight clothes can cause irritation and hinder the healing process

  • In some cases a second skin type bandage will be used for healing as long as you are not allergic to medical adhesives. This type of bandage is waterproof and will stay on the skin for six days. After the 6 days gently peel off the bandage, the easiest way to do this is under some warm water and to peel away from the body. The tattoo at this point will still be healing, start moisturizing and follow the above steps for the remainder of the healing process.

What is your touchup policy?

Your tattoo will be fully healed after three weeks. If a touchup is required I offer a free touch up 90 days after your tattoo is finished.
